Our aim is to prepare our students in the current digital world we live in, by giving them the skills and tools to be cyber smart, safe and resilient 21st Century learners.
According to Australia's national goals for schooling in the twenty-first century (1999), it is vital that students leave school confident, creative and productive users of new technologies, particularly information and communication technologies (ICT) and understand the impact of these technologies on society.
We at Fairfield West Public school have an extensive network system allowing students to connect online from almost anywhere in the school. Our students are now being switched on to some of the most up-to-date technology available such as:
- a computer lab fitted with 30 netbooks;
- an iPad lab with 32 iPads and Apple tv;
- stage set of mobile iPads;
- Interactive Whiteboards in each classroom ;
- a minimum of 2 computers per class;
- a set of Nintendo D.S consoles and educational games;
- class set of mobile lap tops;
- a stage technology tool box complete with cameras and headphones;
- a digital school noticeboard and
- two video conferencing connected classroom spaces.
